Disassembly procedure

Many people are interested in whether it is possible to remove the dashboard of a VAZ 2110 without “demolishing” the floor of the cabin?
It's probably possible, but it would be very inconvenient. Therefore, we act according to this plan:

  1. Let's prepare a marker and self-adhesive labels (which are usually glued to the product). They can be bought at points where all sorts of small things are sold such as napkins, bags, etc., as well as in stationery stores;
  2. We remove the front seats from the interior;
  3. We unscrew the screws on the sides, remove the tunnel (first its upper part, then the lower);
  4. We disassemble the steering column casing, remove it and the steering wheel. To do this, you need to unscrew 3 self-tapping screws and 4 screws. Please note that the VAZ 2110 steering wheel sits quite tightly on the splines, so you need to remove it by rocking and tugging, but being careful of a sharp blow to the face, if you suddenly overdo it and it will fly out;
  5. Next are the steering column switches. They also need to be removed;
  6. Don’t forget to mark everything and write down on a piece of paper what we are filming;
  7. We unscrew the glove compartment (in “understandable” language - the glove compartment) and also take it out;
  8. Next comes the disassembly of the mounting block and its cover. To do this, disconnect all connectors and relays;
  9. Now we have almost opened the instrument panel on the VAZ 2110. All that remains is to remove the strut covers, unscrew the headlight hydraulic adjustment and push it inward;
  10. Now the main task is to unscrew the screws securing the instrument panel to the body. To remove it completely, you need to unscrew the two studs located under the covers of the tunnels for supplying air to the side windows.

After all these manipulations, the panel hangs, and is held in place only by the steering shaft and the lower air duct.

Third-party, but factory heating

Okay, but what if there is no standard heating? What to do then? Calm down, you can buy a third-party factory one, now our Russian one is highly praised and is designed for almost any car.

The main thing is to choose the size of the “seats”, it is important to understand that you do not need to heat the entire place, but strictly in the center, the side cushions (not installed for support)

The principle is also simple - we remove the standard seat covers, lay and glue the mats - then we put on the covers and connect them to the electrical system. You can do everything yourself, the kit costs about 2000 - 2500 rubles, for two seats (back + lower part). A short video, let's watch.

At worst, the instrument panel will fail completely. To work, you will also need to purchase LEDs with a brightness of 3 to 15 lumens, depending on the level of desired brightness. During the tuning procedure, you need to follow some recommendations:

be careful and careful not to damage the traces of the microcircuits; When soldering, observe the correct polarity of the LEDs; Do not hold the soldering iron tip for too long - the LEDs will fail due to overheating.

To make sure the LEDs are working properly, you will need a multimeter. The tester probes are connected to the “legs” of the diodes - a working diode will indicate the integrity of the circuit (a sound signal).

Connecting the backlight to work with DRLs during the day

This can be done using firmware or a jumper directly on the electronic board. Any tampering with the electrical system will void the vehicle's warranty. In the absence of skills and experience, such actions can lead to failure of the instrument cluster.

The main task of the procedure is to solder a jumper from the contact of the LEDs responsible for illuminating the panel to the contacts of the LEDs responsible for illuminating the display of the on-board computer (lights up when the ignition key is turned). Any suitable piece of wire can be used as a jumper. At first glance it may seem complicated, but for experienced VAZ car owners such modifications are standard practice. Rarely do such requests come to specialized centers. The replacement of LEDs is not carried out by an official dealer, nor is the installation of all kinds of overlays.

Lumbar support

AvtoVAZ designers tried to make the Lada Vesta the most comfortable of all VAZ models. So they added adjustable lumbar support. To adjust it, there is another handle on the side back.

She is responsible for a useful and rarely seen setting - lumbar support for the seat. This option can only be found in the Comfort trim level and above. The standard version of Vesta does not have such a setting.

Lift the lever up, changing the shape of the seat back. At the same time, the driver's back support moves forward. This ensures a straight back position, which helps during long trips behind the wheel, preventing pain.

If the instrument panel is faulty, it is immediately noticeable; the following signs may indicate a problem:

  1. The contact of the instrument panel with the on-board electrical network is broken. The reason may be a broken wiring or damaged connectors or contacts.
  2. Sensor malfunction. The dashboard displays incorrect information if the crankshaft position sensor, speed sensor, or fuel level have failed.
  3. Mechanical damage, for example, exposure to constant vibrations or a strong impact in an accident.

  5. Burnt-out indicator lights - in this case, the backlight disappears.

These malfunctions are obvious, but there are also those whose causes are not easy to understand.

Arrow indicators do not work

If the arrows on the instruments do not work, this may indicate a failure of the sensors responsible for these readings:

  1. The tachometer does not work. If the tachometer needle does not move, the cause of the malfunction is the device itself. If the crankshaft position sensor or electronic control unit fails, the engine cannot be started.
  2. The speedometer does not work. If the device is working but does not indicate speed, the cause is a faulty speed sensor. This will also be indicated by the ABS warning light.
  3. There is no antifreeze temperature reading. The temperature sensor is faulty and transmits incorrect readings to the control unit, which are displayed on the instrument panel.
  4. No fuel level readings. The unit with the fuel pump is faulty, the ECU does not receive a signal.

You can remove the instrument panel to check the functionality of the elements only after testing all sensors for malfunctions.

Burnt out warning lights

Often the reason for the lack of readings of one or another indicator is burnt-out backlight bulbs. There is a special test to check their performance. When you turn the ignition key, the ECU should start all the instruments and light up all the warning lights in test mode. At this time, you should make sure that the red lamps are working properly (they indicate major problems in the operation of the systems):

  • signal indicator of the hand brake and the serviceability of the brake system;
  • power steering failure indicator;
  • lack of battery charge;
  • low oil pressure indicator;
  • indicator of security system problems.

Ignoring failure of the listed sensors leads to serious consequences, including failure of the engine and some vital systems for the car.

In frosty weather, it’s not very pleasant to sit on an icy car seat to start the engine - so heated seats come to the rescue. Inventive owners of the Lada Priora almost immediately began installing heated seats in their Prioras. Of course, the seat does not warm up instantly, but it noticeably saves you from frostbite. While the heater is not heating up (since the engine has not yet warmed up!) is it necessary to sit in complete cold? Factory seat heating is installed only in luxury versions of the Priora car. Installing it is not very difficult, the main thing is to connect everything correctly. Heated seats, like “Emelya”, do not need to be installed, the seat upholstery is not removed, because it is just a cover for the seats - it is inserted into the cigarette lighter - although for some reason, over time, they burn out the cigarette lighter fuse.

You can install heated seats on a Priora yourself; it will cost relatively little (compared to the fact that your health can suffer greatly from warming up a frozen car). The heated seat control unit can be installed in the Priora where it is convenient: the main thing to remember is that this is not the most necessary button when driving a car, it should not interfere with pressing other levers and buttons. Functions and features of the Vesta panel device

The instrument cluster on the Lada Vesta is completely different from those used on the Priora, Grant and Kalina. It is now a completely redesigned multifunctional device.

The speedometer is located in the central well - this is the main element of any “tidy” in a production car. The scale implies acceleration to 200 km/h, although in fact the stated maximum speed of Vesta with the current engine is no more than 185 km/h. Next to the speedometer there is a small on-board computer display, on which the driver can see all the necessary information about the operation of the engine and other vehicle systems.

Inside the speedometer scale there are various indicators that inform the driver about different parameters: the hazard warning lights are on and the direction indicators are on, the brake pads are critically worn, the engine is malfunctioning and the engine oil level is low. On the left is the tachometer well, the scale of which is marked from 1 to 7 (1000-7000 rpm). The engine allows you to “spin” up to 5500 rpm - this way there is no harm to the motor. After this mark there is a red zone; prolonged operation of the power unit at such high speeds is not recommended. The tachometer also contains information indicators.

In Grant, the temperature indicator was removed to reduce the cost of the car, but in the climatic conditions of Russia and the CIS countries, it is extremely important for the driver to know the current temperature of the engine oil in order to prevent possible overheating due to various malfunctions

The fuel tank indicator shows a scale of “full tank”, “half tank” and “empty”. You can see an arrow near the gas pump icon; it is needed to indicate to the driver which side the fuel filler neck is located (the indicator points to the right). There are also warning lights in the right well.

In general, the instrument panel has an attractive design; the scales are backlit in green and orange with white numbers. The only drawback is the poor design of the arrow indicators. The intermediate divisions of the scales are not informative, and you need to get used to them. With a quick glance while moving, it will not be easy to read the readings.

Road stability and steering

The next item on my list of Vesta advantages is handling. But you need to consider it taking into account previous experience with fawn and grant. After them, the news drives great.

She doesn't walk in a rut. Doesn't roll much in corners or during sudden lane changes. In the West there is no huge delay between the movement of the steering wheel and the movement of the car. Everything is like in any other classmate. This is definitely a plus, because the Granta steered poorly and AvtoVAZ could easily transfer these shortcomings to the new model.

Perhaps this is also due to the presence of ESC, TCS and other letters that were not in the grant. But the main thing is that with all these things it’s nice to ride a West.

What malfunctions occur?

In order for the backlight to work in the daytime without turning on the headlights, you can reflash the “tidy”. If the car is equipped with cruise control not at the factory, but by the owner, the corresponding indication on the old panel without firmware will not light up.

Without the skills and knowledge, installing software yourself can do more harm than good. The tailoring must be used strictly for the specific dashboard. It is not allowed to install updated software from a new device to an old one and vice versa.

Work on connecting the wires should be carried out with the battery disconnected. Install the relay (1119-3747210-10) into the mounting block, connector K11.

The 87th contact of the relay is connected to the red wire of the button block.

The 86th contact of the relay is connected to the body ground.

The 85th contact of the relay is connected to the black-blue wire from the ignition switch.

The 30th pin of the relay is connected to the pink wire of the 30th pin of the high beam relay.

The fuse can be installed between the high beam relay and relay K11 on the pink wire.

Method of installing standard heated seats on Priora

In addition to purchasing a standard set of heating plates, we will need additional materials

  • fuse 15 A;
  • relay 1119-3747210-10;
  • ground terminals;
  • corrugated tube with a diameter of 18 mm;
  • Double-sided tape.

Now you can proceed directly to installation

  1. Move the seat forward and unscrew the 3 mounting bolts.
  2. Move the chair back and unscrew the 4 nuts from the clamps.
  3. Tilt the chair back and unscrew two more bolts in the middle and remove the seat.
  4. Remove the trim by bending the metal hooks on the back and the latches on the bottom.
  5. Bend back the casing and secure the heating elements.
  6. Lead the wire down under the seat, having previously put on the corrugated pipe, secure it with a clamp, and put on the trim.
  7. Disconnect the battery and make connections:
  • black wire – attached under a bolt near the handbrake (“ground”);
  • white – to the cigarette lighter illumination;
  • red - stretch along the standard harness under the floor covering under the driver's seat and further along the left threshold to relay contact “87” in the electronic unit.
  1. Remove the tunnel lining and lay the main harness from the control unit to the armrest, having first put on the corrugated pipe.
  2. Install the purchased relay into the free slot K11 of the mounting block and make the connections:
  • terminal “86” – connect to the body;
  • terminal “85” - connect to the blue-black wire from the ignition switch;
  • connect terminal “30” to the pink wire from pin “30” of K7.
  1. Install a fuse between relays K11 and K7.
  2. Check connections.

Do-it-yourself firmware

You need to be aware that all actions are performed at your own peril and risk. No one can guarantee that after installing the firmware yourself, the device will work correctly. To prevent this outcome, it is recommended to update the panel either at an authorized dealer or at specialized service stations.

There is no need to confuse the panel firmware with the multimedia firmware - these are different devices.

The cost of such a service varies from 1,500 to 2,500 thousand rubles. This is much cheaper than buying a new shield to replace a damaged one yourself. For dismantling and reflashing, the warranty may be revoked if the procedure is not carried out by an authorized dealer. If you decide to update the software yourself, you will need to make a backup copy of the standard firmware, then prepare the necessary tools:

  1. A device for flashing Usbdm OSBDM V4.95 - can be ordered on AliExpress, the cost is approximately 600-700 rubles.
  2. Install drivers and software for Windows from the disk included with the programmer.
  3. Dismantle the instrument panel, peel off the factory seal, and remove the cover from the back.
  4. Open the programmer and move the checkbox to the 3.3V position - at this voltage you will not need an external power source.
  5. Connect to the dashboard and PC.
  6. On a computer or laptop, open the HCS12 Programmer program, select and click on the “Detected” item.
  7. Go to the “Target” item and select the folder with the location of the firmware, check the box next to the “Auto Reload” item, then click on “Detect Chip”. The programmer will determine the chip type automatically.
  8. Go to the “Security” tab and check the “Unsecure” box.
  9. In the “Advanced” tab, check the “Enable” box.
  10. In the “Device Operations” section on the “Target” tab, select the “Erase Selective” item - only the firmware will be replaced, the immobilizer data and mileage will be saved.

Now you can click on the “Program Flash” button - the firmware process will start. This will last a few seconds. After completion, when prompted by the program to connect the dashboard, click “No”. The flashing device can be turned off and the instrument panel replaced.

Principle of operation

This arrangement of switches will be the most successful from the point of view of ergonomics and comfort. As a result, after painful searches and reflections, I noticed that this board should fit perfectly into the tunnel setup.

When the button is pressed, power is supplied to its winding. Installing heating elements in the rear seats takes about the same time. The power wire was led directly from the battery through the standard hole on the left in the engine compartment into the passenger compartment. The driver's license will have to be removed to put everything back in place. It is enough to install the heating sheet and the relay in their original places. The connection diagram will remain the same, that is, installation will not cause any additional difficulties. I plopped down on the icy seat for a couple of seconds, started the car, pressed the heating button, and within a couple of minutes the seat was already warm.

New instrument panel

Recently, AvtoVAZ installed a new instrument panel on the Lada Vesta. What distinctive features does it have?

  1. The size of the numbers has been increased.
  2. When designing the scale, orange elements were used.
  3. The dashboard lighting also works during the day. Therefore, you can enter settings and study the description in the daytime, when the sun is shining brightly. The brightness can also be changed manually.
  4. The volume level of both warning and information signals has been increased. If the driver decides to leave the vehicle with the key left, he will receive a corresponding signal.
  5. Some commands received voice guidance. A female voice informs about the activity of the system or the functionality of the new shield.
  6. Introduction of light indicators that indicate passengers who have not fastened their seat belts. A signaling device has also been introduced, with the help of which the tire pressure level is set.
  7. Time synchronization is performed automatically. For this purpose, signals from the corresponding satellites are used. To use this function, you must first set the time zone.
  8. The temperature mode is displayed in steps. This greatly simplifies the process of studying and familiarizing yourself with the data.

The manufacturing company plans to release a trial series in order to test the new dashboard. Initially, vehicles with such shields will be sold abroad. After some time they will begin deliveries to our country.

If drivers purchased a Lada Vesta car earlier, then the problem can be solved in two ways:

  1. The shield, which is prepared according to the new model, is purchased separately. Estimated cost is about 7,500–8,000 rubles.
  2. Make adjustments yourself.

The second option is acceptable if the driver has certain experience and the required knowledge.

So I finally found a reason to write something about the car, even though I was just lazy. Since the last publication, the car has traveled about 25 thousand kilometers, more than two years have passed. Feels fine. Consumables (liquid filters) are being changed, there were no sudden attacks. I can only remember a problem from last winter - air in the deflectors of different temperatures when the stove was on. From the central left one blows heat, from its neighbor there is warmth, and from the extreme ones there is cold. The matter was resolved by dismantling the heater core and flushing it under pressure. At the same time, the antifreeze was replaced. Now everything is fine. The handbrake somehow stopped holding - due to fatigue and curvature of the lever. Was replaced with a no-name part from the store. It was enough for exactly a month and a half. The splines on the base (not on the lever) were eaten away. The new one has been fine for six months, it seems to be holding up. A couple of weeks ago I replaced the brake discs - the thickness is 18 mm with the outermost 17.8 mm. Along with the discs, I also changed the pads. All original, TIIR in original Ladovian packaging. At the same time, the leaky CV joint boot was replaced. And yes, NIPPON pads are GOVNO! Creaky dogs. Now about the good stuff. I didn’t want to put anything on it at all, simply because these couple of years I’ve been waiting for the purchase of a new car. But for now it’s a little bit difficult - I don’t want to compromise, I want a specific car, so I’d better wait. I bought and installed the vaunted original Jimmy door switches, made in South Korea. The old ones are simply exhausted. The issue price is 100 rubles/piece. We purchased handbrake and gearbox handles in leather.

Price - 800/250 rubles. At the checkpoint the old one was already going bald. Well, at the same time I decided to buy a heated asshole, finally! I was always afraid that the generator wouldn’t handle it (BATE at 90A). But then a used 115 amp generator from KZATE turned up for a thousand, now it has been repaired and almost assembled, we will install it soon. There are plans to replace the cracked windshield with a heated one. Well, I bought the heaters, and when I received the parcel, I immediately rushed to install the device) I took a three-speed Prior from the new ones.

What to add? It’s good for the buttocks and lower back, I recommend it to everyone. If you want, fire it, if you want, warm up the little one. I can’t even imagine how I ever lived without it. And yes, BATE pulls, the drawdown on the bk is a maximum of 0.2 volts for 2 heating at maximum.
