Jerking, jerking, shaking and vibrations when starting to move and when changing gears are one of the problems faced by owners of Lada Vesta and Lada XRAY with AMT and a 1.8-liter engine. If the LADA dealership recognizes such a case as covered by warranty, then the defective Valeo clutch disc is replaced with a new one of the same company (there is no alternative). According to reviews from owners, this solution is not durable. Soon they found a better replacement - a clutch disc from another car.
Question for AVTOVAZ
via Za Rulem magazine:
On the AMT 1.8, the factory installs what is obviously not the most reliable and expensive Valeo driven disk. However, they install it under warranty. With a clutch warranty of 30,000 km, owners change it twice. Maybe it will be much more profitable for you to immediately install a more reliable driven disk that has been tested on other AVTOVAZ products? For example, manufacturing companies Sashs or Luk.
Answer
:
Thank you for your request. Working to improve the quality of our products is our main direction of development. Currently, the resistance of disks to overheating has been increased.
You have to modify the design yourself.
Attention! The SACHS and EXEDY clutch disc is designed for installation on other vehicles. You install it on Lada Vesta and Lada XRAY (1.8L, AMT) cars at your own peril and risk.

Text reviews on the Sachs clutch
Michael. VAZ 2107. Has already run 50 thousand km. On the Sachs clutch, there are no complaints, the only thing is a little harsh.
Victor. We often have to change cars at work, both our domestic and foreign cars. I can give a short description of the clutches that I had to drive. So, I like Valeo for its comfort, it squeezes out gently, but the downside is that big moments are not for it, Sachs is a bit harsh, but at the same time reliable, Luk is a compromise solution of these two, for those who are tormented with a choice, I would recommend it, especially on our cars.
Nikita. I bought a clutch disc, part number 1878000298, took it out of the box and discovered a problem, one of the damper springs was loose, I had to bring it back.
Eugene. VAZ 2105. For those who want to definitely buy an original Sachs clutch. I became concerned about this issue and decided to write to famous online stores, which confirmed that they sell original parts from ZF factories. The fact is that the part must have a certificate of conformity, but online stores did not confirm its availability or simply ignored me, not considering it necessary to contact a small client. After that, I personally contacted ZF, the head of the dealer network. In response, he sent me the addresses of warehouses where I could purchase their clutch for my car, with the exact number of stocks at the moment. Naturally, along with the part there was a certificate of conformity. So, after getting confused, I 100% bought the original clutch.
Peter. Audi S4. I've been driving the Sax clutch for over 5 years now, the flight is normal, no complaints about the performance.
Igor. Audi 100. I installed a Sachs clutch, I’m happy with its performance, before that there was a Luk, on which I alone clocked more than 70 thousand km. So I recommend these two companies for installation.
Alexander. GAZ 31. Before that there was a Phoenix clutch, rare crap, after smoking the reviews I decided to take Sachs instead, I took it at my own peril and risk, since there was not a single mention of ZMZ-406 and Volga on the box. I installed it with my own hands, after installation I pressed the clutch pedal and got scared, I thought I had installed something wrong, I didn’t feel it at all, it turned out that Sachs had such a soft basket, especially in comparison with Fenox.
Paul. UAZ Patriot. The factory LUK clutch has covered less than 60 thousand km. and practically died, the first gear did not stick in, I had to first engage 4 and only then the first, as on the 469 UAZ. Added to this were noticeable jerks when starting to move. It became impossible to drive, after studying the reviews I decided to install a Sachs clutch from Gazelle Business, plus a set of various gaskets, nuts, studs, pullers and mandrels, so that later in the process I would not have to look for a taxi and go to the store. After installation, I did not recognize my car, the pedal became very light, like on a car, the gears are very clearly and easily stuck in, no jerks when starting to move. The only negative is that the transmission still rattles at 1500 rpm.
Zhenya. Niva Chevrolet. I drove more than 100 thousand km using the original Valeo clutch, after which jerking began in low and first gear. At idle and when the engine was warm there was a diesel sound. On the advice of friends, I decided to install a new clutch SACHS (Sax) 3000951003. Its price at that time was 5 thousand rubles, they installed it for me at the service center in 3 hours. After the replacement, the diesel effect disappeared, the gears engage more clearly than on the Valeo, no jerks, but in principle this will probably happen with every new clutch.
Fedor. Lada 2113. I bought myself a SACHS hitch, order number 3000951033. The release bearing is in a plastic cage, so I had to replace it with an iron one from a VAZ 2110. I installed it myself, using a pit and a garage, the only negative was that the centering shaft was not included in the kit (like such a name) that helps in installation. The clutch is very soft, I practically don’t feel the pedal, I’m happy with the result of my choice, the main thing is that it lasts no less than the original one, which I replaced at 150 thousand km. (at the same time, it could travel some more).
Ivan. VAZ 2109. I was choosing a clutch between LUK and SACHS, I took it to the store to compare, the Sachs looked more powerful, its basket was thicker, this predetermined my choice. I've already driven it for more than 50 thousand km, there are no complaints about the work, the gear shifts are just as soft.
Eugene. Passat B4, 1995. Clutch slave cylinder SACHS 6283600116 Made in Italy, cost $50, served me 35 thousand km. and the pedal failed again. In my opinion, not enough. I bought the same one, cheaper only LPR, but didn’t install it.
Ilya. Ford Mondeo, 1995. Basket+disc, old release. The mileage on it is 190 thousand, and it is still on the car. True, at idle you can hear the basket rustling, but there are no vibrations when starting and there is no slipping of the disk.
Oleg. Ford Mondeo 1993. I installed a SACHS 3000 664 001 clutch 4 years ago, I can’t say the mileage, but I can say that so far everything is good and I’m driving without worrying...
SkyMan. Ford Mondeo 1998. Part number: 3000834401 The disc came from LUK with a SACHS sticker and fit like original, but there were problems with the basket. Tolley is defective, but the SACHS basket is clean, but the Motorcraft was original, the working surface of the new one is 8 mm wider than the old one and looks different. When we tried it on, it fit, and when we tightened it, the fastenings rested against the protrusions of the flywheel, maybe it was a defect, I don’t know. Of course you can install it, but it won’t last long, the disc will wear out a little and the basket won’t press it. The Exist store did not accept the cart; the number fully corresponds to my car according to the catalogue. But the master found a way out, we sharpened the protruding elements on the basket a little and it stood up.
Fikler. Ford Mondeo 1 1993 The Sachs clutch has only gone through a thousand so far on the new one, nothing to say. The old one is also Sachs, 70 thousand passed, the clutch disc burst, and according to wear calculations, it would have lasted me another 70 thousand! It means good, the review is generally positive.
Arsen. Ford Mondeo 1.8 1997. Article number: 3000824401. This is a clutch kit (basket, disc) for cars with a hydraulic clutch. I changed it along with the release bearing about 21 thousand times. back. During this time, the clutch survived a very frosty winter and did not cause any problems. I don’t practice “low” starts.
Additions: 1. At the moment, the mileage of this unit is 38 thousand. - works properly. 2. To be completely precise, I actually bought a Luk disk and a Sachs basket - I don’t remember the numbers. I also made a mistake with the basket number, and all this time I had a basket for the 2.0-TDi. I won’t divide - I’ll write about everyone here.)
At the 99 thousand mileage of the part, the disc was replaced with a new one (NK), since I felt the clutch slipping, especially in wet weather. The wear was obvious - the thickness of the disc was 6 mm, although it had not yet reached the rivets. The basket also shows wear. Moreover, due to my mistake in determining the number, I had a 2.0-TDi basket for a disk with a diameter of 228 mm. On the one hand, you can measure the wear - it was approximately 0.3-0.4 mm, on the other hand, the experience cannot be considered completely objective, since the part is actually not original: this basket may have other characteristics, which is why the wear may be different. In any case, the mileage is almost 100k. with frequent jolts in traffic jams can be considered positive, although I would like more.
PS And again, as in the case of the release, a used basket with a mileage of 180 thousand was installed, because I didn’t want to put back the “wrong” basket. Fortunately, then, in May 2005, I wisely coated the working surface of the old basket with grease and... for some reason I didn’t throw it away
