Alas, I cannot give a definite answer to this question. VAZ cars have at least 4 different APS. They were made by different programmers and also have a bunch of software versions. If restoring a master key is a standard procedure and is regulated by technical specifications, then reusing old working keys is not. That is, as the programmer wanted to generate passwords for working keys, that’s what he did. Some APS change this password when replacing the master key, then you need to buy new ones. If the password remains the same, the old ones will do.

Training procedure:

Carrying out the training procedure leads to the following consequences:

  • the engine control controller activates the anti-theft function if it has not been activated;
  • the system changes its password to a new one chosen at random;
  • a new system password is written into the training key;
  • all remote controls that were previously trained are erased from memory;
  • The codes of those remote control units that were trained in this training procedure are stored in memory.

The training procedure is applied in the following cases:

  • activating the anti-theft function in the controller (for example, in a new car or replacing a faulty controller);
  • erasing old and training new remote controls if lost;
  • changing the system password if the owner admits that his system password may have been read (for example, when selling a car from one owner to another)
  • remote control training when replacing a faulty immobilizer with a new one.

Only new remote control units or those that were previously trained using the training key used in this training procedure can be trained. It is impossible to learn a remote control key from another car into your car.

Before starting the training procedure, fill the car with at least 10 liters of gasoline so as not to get confused by the squeaks.

Conversion into a single door unlocking impulse

The controller of the central locking control unit opens the doors in two stages: one press of the button unlocks the driver’s door, two presses – all others. But you can make it so that everything unlocks after one press. This is very easy to do:

  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Press the unlock and close buttons at the same time and hold for at least five seconds.
  3. After the beep, the key can be released.

When the buzzer sounds once, the system notifies you of the transition to a new mode. Returning everything to the way it was before is just as easy. To do this, repeat the above procedure and wait for the double buzzer to confirm the transition to the default settings.

Key programming instructions for Lada Kalina, Priora, Granta, etc.

  1. Close all doors. Turn on the ignition with the training key and wait in the on state for at least 6 seconds.
  2. Turn off the ignition. The indicator light in the warning lamp unit should flash quickly (at a frequency of 5 times per second) while the learning procedure is being carried out correctly. If the lamp stops flashing quickly, it indicates an incorrect operation, an out-of-time interval, or a malfunction. Remove the training key from the ignition switch.
  3. While the warning lamp is flashing (about 6 seconds), insert the remote control and turn on the ignition. The immobilizer buzzer should emit three beeps. If the buzzer does not sound and the indicator has stopped flashing, this means: - the time interval of 6 seconds has been exceeded and it is necessary to repeat the learning procedure, starting from step 1; -immobilizer is faulty
  4. Wait 6 seconds for the buzzer to emit two more beeps and turn off the ignition.
  5. If it is necessary to train the second remote control, then you should perform steps 3...4 again, using the second learning remote control to turn on the ignition. If not, continue from step 6.
  6. After turning off the ignition for no more than 6 seconds, while the indicator is flashing, remove the remote control, insert the learning key and turn on the ignition. The buzzer should beep three times. Wait 6 seconds until the buzzer beeps two more times.
  7. Turn off the ignition without removing the training key, wait 6 seconds until the buzzer sounds a single sound signal. The indicator should flash twice as fast. If the sound signal does not sound and the flashing indicator stops, you should return to step 1 and repeat the learning procedure. If a repeated failure occurs when performing step 7, this means that the ECM was previously trained with a different key, in which case the controller should be replaced.
  8. After the buzzer gives a single sound signal, no later than 3 seconds, turn on the ignition for 2...3 seconds and then turn it off (after turning on the ignition, the buzzer will sound three times and the indicator will stop flashing). The hazard warning lights should flash and the car horn should beep.
  9. Remove the learning key. Wait with the ignition off for at least 10 seconds. Insert the working key and turn on the ignition. Wait 6 seconds, if the indicator does not flash, test start the engine, the engine should start. If the indicator flashes, turn off the ignition and wait at least 10 seconds. Turn on the ignition. The warning light should not flash and the engine should start. If, after turning on the ignition, after 6 seconds the indicator lights up with a constant light, then the learning procedure must be repeated, starting from step 1.

What the standard alarm system of Kalina 1 can do

Lada Kalina has been produced since 2004, but already then standard security systems began to be installed on it. The main components of this alarm are:

  • Control block;
  • actuators in the form of door drives and a horn;
  • radio key;
  • standard immobilizer.

The main way to get into the car is to use the key. It has three buttons - these are:

  • arming;
  • disarming;
  • unlocking the trunk.

By pressing one of the buttons, the car owner controls the security system. When arming, all doors and trunk are locked. The system goes into security mode. When the door is opened, the car notifies the car owner with audible horn signals about penetration.

Also, the doors will not close if the limit switch of one of the doors is faulty or the door is not closed. In security mode, the car cannot be started. The system will sound alarms.

The key fob has a trunk release button. By holding it down or pressing it twice in a row, you can unlock the trunk without disarming it, for example, to load luggage. If the trunk is not opened within 20 seconds, the system will again go into security mode.

Disadvantages of the standard system:

  • lack of autostart;
  • short range;
  • lack of shock and tilt sensor.

The last point can be corrected, since the standard alarm makes it possible to install shock or tilt sensors. All other shortcomings can be easily eliminated by installing a full-fledged car alarm.

Replacing the remote control battery

The remote control is equipped with a CR2032 lithium battery, the initial supply voltage of which is 3 V. If the remote control supply voltage is within normal limits, then each time you press any button on the remote control, the indicator lights up with a short flash. If, when you press any button on the remote control, the indicator lights up with two short flashes or does not light up at all, then you should replace the battery with a new one.

To do this, you need to unscrew the screw from the side of the case opposite the control buttons, separate the halves of the case, remove the board from the case, replace the battery with a new one, observing the polarity; insert the board into the case; snap the housing halves together and tighten the screw.

Resynchronization of remote control codes

In cases where the remote control buttons are pressed outside the range of the radio channel, the “floating” code counter in the remote control goes out of synchronization with the counter in the system control unit. If the number of button presses outside the signal reception area of ​​the system exceeds 1000, the system stops responding to remote control commands. In this case, the remote control training procedure should be repeated.

Before starting the key learning procedure, you must:

-close all car doors.

- have at least 10 liters of gasoline in the fuel tank in order to eliminate possible low fuel level buzzer signals, which can be confused with buzzer signals when learning the key.

-prepare all the keys that you plan to use in the car. All working keys, even those that have previously been trained on a given car, must be retrained again with each training procedure.

1. Turn on the ignition with the training key without starting the engine and wait with the ignition on for at least 6 seconds.

2. Turn off the ignition. The immobilizer indicator should begin to flash rapidly (5 times per second) while the learning procedure is being carried out correctly.

If the fast flashing of the immobilizer indicator stops, it means that something is being done incorrectly, for example, the time interval has been violated or there is a malfunction in the car. Remove the training key from the ignition switch.

3. While the immobilizer indicator is flashing (no later than 6 seconds), it is necessary to insert the working key into the lock and turn on the ignition without starting the engine. If everything is done correctly, the buzzer will give three beeps.

4. Wait in the ignition on position (approximately 6 seconds) until the buzzer sounds two more beeps. If after 6 seconds the buzzer does not produce sound signals and the rapid flashing of the light stops, then you need to turn off the ignition and start the procedure again from step No. 1. If the situation repeats, this may mean a malfunction in the car or that this working key is not new, but has already been previously trained on another car.

5. Turn off the ignition.

6. If it is necessary to train more than one working key, you should repeat steps No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 again, using the second and subsequent trained working keys in turn to turn on the ignition. How to train (Retrain) the immobilizer on a VAZ 1117-VAZ 1119?

Note! After you carry out the entire immobilizer training (Retraining) procedure, the following will happen to the car, namely: The anti-theft system will turn on if it was previously disabled, the system will also change the password to a new one, which will be selected randomly and which will be automatically recorded on the training key, and also all previous passwords will be erased from the immobilizer memory and with the old password (with the old training key on which the old password is written) you will not be able to disable the anti-theft system of the car, in addition, those working keys with which you trained the system will be written into memory !

1) Before starting the training, let’s note one fact: in fact, you are not training the immobilizer as such, but simply flashing working keys for it, so that the car can start not only with one key (Over time, keys are lost) but with two, or even if you want from three, but you won’t find exactly the same working keys in car dealerships, they will need to be made to order from the manufacturer, and what series of key you will need, you can find out on the tag (see photo below) on which the serial number will be written and which came with the car (it should hang on the key) when it was purchased.

2) Let's go further and move on to the key learning procedure itself, first, close all the doors of the car and then insert the learning key into the ignition (The learning key must be without a remote control, because the remote control on which the trunk opening and also opening buttons are located and closing doors, only working keys are equipped) there is a red insert on the end of it (Indicated by an arrow in the large photo) so you definitely won’t confuse it, so this is how it will be inserted, turn the key until all the devices light up (This is the ignition position on) and wait at least 6 seconds, then turn off the ignition by turning the key and make sure that the immobilizer warning lamp (Indicated by an arrow in the small photo) begins to blink very quickly (it should blink 5 times per second), while learning the working keys (Key ) it should continue to blink, if it stops, then either something was done incorrectly, or there is some kind of malfunction with the working key (Maybe it has already been trained by another immobilizer), after checking, remove the key from the lock and insert the working one there.

The purpose of the key and its capabilities

The remote control for a car is designed to remotely open and lock doors, turn on the alarm, block the trunk door, lower the windows and perform other actions. This key is also used as a coded electronic key for the immobilizer. The immobilizer can be disabled, then the car will be able to start from a “normal blank”.

Such a system is attached to the metal part of the key itself and is intended for connection to the car system by:

  1. Radio channel.
  2. Transponder channel.

How to change the ignition switch on a Lada Kalina with your own hands

Another option to train the key is to call an appropriate specialist who will clean the EEPROM of the injection ECU and flash the data of the new keys. Without all these manipulations it is impossible to start the car!

Procedure for replacing the lock:

  1. Remove the steering column cover.
  2. Disconnect the connector with the ignition switch power wires.
  3. Disconnect the small immobilizer receiving antenna connector.
  4. Remove the four bolts securing the lock and remove it.
  5. Install a new lock with new breakout bolts.
  6. Break off the bolt heads and perform further assembly in reverse order.

The hardest part is removing the old lock. For this you will need a good chisel. After all, the bolts that are to be unscrewed have no heads. This is done to prevent theft.

Using a chisel and hammer, you need to break off all four bolts and unscrew them.

Key learning procedure

During key learning, the following happens:

  1. If the anti-theft function has not been activated, it will be activated.
  2. The system changes the password, which is chosen randomly.
  3. This password is written in the key. All previously installed keys from the remote control are erased from the system memory.
  4. All newly installed keys with codes are stored in memory.

This procedure is recommended for use in the following cases:

  1. When replacing a controller or in a new car.
  2. Erasing old keys and replacing them with new ones.
  3. Changing passwords when the owner suspects that the codes could have been read by strangers.
  4. When replacing the immobilizer.

Training can only occur on new keys or those that were previously also trained using a special key. You cannot learn the key on another car. Experts recommend using the training key only in extreme cases and not using it for driving every day. It must also be stored separately. Before training begins, the tank must be hot enough to prevent the buzzer system from tripping.
